Rainbow Kick-off with RFSL

The Rainbow Fund and RFSL are launching a new initiative: Rainbow Kick-Off.
The purpose is to support outreach and strengthening activities.

All over the world, there are brave, uncompromising LGBTQI activists who fight against very strong and organised resistance. Organisations and groups driven by a passionate desire for human rights to apply to everyone, no matter who you are or who you love.

Rainbow kickoff

During Rainbow Kick-Off, organisations, groups and initiatives can seek funding for everything from outreach activities to work to strengthen their organisations. This may involve creating meeting places to break isolation and create opportunities for community and organisation. It can also be Pride Festivals, sporting events or cultural initiatives to create visibility and reach out to more people, as well as campaigns or advocacy work aimed at the general public and decision-makers or money to strengthen capacity within their own organisation.

These groups often work under severe pressure, with major challenges in finding funding, establishing themselves, reaching out to the community, organising and mobilising for change. With a lack of capacity and resources, it is difficult to get support to start up initiatives and conduct business. Within the movement, trans and intersex groups are particularly under-funded.

About Regnbågsfonden

The purpose of the Fund is to financially help HBTQ people around the world, as well as individuals, primarily in countries where HBTQ people are stalked and harassed by authorities, police and religious institutions.

Our funds will not go to organisations or individuals who do not respect human rights and freedoms. These include racism, and antisemitism, sexism and children’s rights.
